museum of contemporary art
The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León or MUSAC - Museum Of Contemporary Art of Castilla y León - plays a key role in the development of the current contemporary art in Castilla y León as it sets up a close relationship and exchange between local artists and international trends. Its concept of museum draws the scene of art as a structure from an open system, made up of a web of squares and rhombuses, where art can feel comfortable. It takes up a sole floor covering more than 8,000 square meters, and features a spacious and comfortable area where art is open to a dialogue with spectators though successive wide-ranging areas. The flashy main façade featuring multicolored glass is a manifest veiled reference to the stained-glass windows of the Cathedral and represents the main image of the museum.
