the auditorium city of leon
Thanks to the façade in Roman travertine and white concrete and to the original shape of the flared windowpanes, the Auditorium has become the first touchstone of the new architecture of the capital, and also the most representative example of a city more modern and open to the future. This brand-new building - created by architects Emilo Tuñón and Luis Mansilla, who also designed the MUSAC - has found a place among the physiognomy of the city, in a visual dialogue with the plateresque style of the Hostal de San Marcos and the modern building that is the seat of the Council of Castilla y León. It has become the center of León’s cultural life and has boosted the image of the city with its aesthetical attraction. Besides, it has been granted innumerable design awards such as the National Award of Architecture.
